Setting a Document as a Template
Explanation
Use this activity to set a document as a template. 
This template will then be used for the creation of each new document of a certain 
document class, language, and format. 
Prerequisites
	- The template document must have a document file 
	(e.g., Word, Excel). 
- The document revision must have a language configured 
	in Document Revision/General
	. 
System Effects
	- When creating a new document based on the template 
	document's class, language and format, the new document is assigned with the 
	template registered in the 
	EDM Basic/Document 
	File Template table. 
- If the document had no format specified, the 
	format field in the template record will be set to an asterisk (*).

Procedure
Creating a template automatically in the 
Document Revision/General
tab. 
	- Open the Document 
	Revision window. The 
	General
	tab is automatically selected. 
- Query for a document revision to use as a template. 
- Enter a value in the Language field in the revision. 
- Click Save. 
- Right-click, click File Operations, and then click Set As Doc 
	File Template. 
Manually creating a template in the 
EDM Basic/Document 
File Template tab. 
	- Open the EDM Basic 
	window. The 
	Document 
	File Template tab is automatically selected. 
- Query for a document class. 
- Double click on the lower table to create a new record. 
- Enter a value in the Language code field. 
- Enter a value in the Format field. The * value is a wildcard and 
	includes all formats. 
- Enter a value in the Document Number field of the document revision 
	that will be used as the template. 
- Click Save.
