Generate Difference Template
Explanation
Use this activity to create a difference template that
shows the basic data 
differences between a company and a source company or source template.
The difference template helps you get a clear view of what an update of a 
company really means. The basic data differences will be displayed per active 
Logical Unit and will show the basic data in the source company or source template 
that does not exist in the company to be updated. Thus the displayed data might 
be added during the process, all depending on how the update is configured.
Regarding this last point, you must consider the following: 
  - If you select the difference template to be the source for the update, then only template difference basic data that is designated as active in the Selected column will be part of the update.
- Only Logical Units that have been selected in the Select LU to Update Company dialog box (launched from the Update Company dialog box) will be part of the process.
- Should data be added only to Logical Units that have no data defined for 
  the current company?
- Should data be added to a Logical Unit even if it is not empty?
    If so, 
  should the update affect only account related Logical Units, only non-account 
  related Logical Units, or both?
Prerequisites
A company to be updated must be available. If the company has no defined 
source company or source template then a source template must be specified in 
order to perform the difference step.
System Effects
The activity will create some temporary templates that
are active only during the 
Update Company process. One of these templates is the difference template that 
can be used as the source for the update.

Procedure
  - Find the company to be updated in the 
  Company window.
- Right-click and then click Update Company to 
  open the Update Company  dialog box.
- Click the button Generate Diff that opens the 
  Generate Difference Template  dialog box.
- In the dialog box, click Generate Diff to
    begin generating the difference template.
- When the difference template ready you can examine the differences. This is done per Logical Unit.
    Click in the Selected 
  column to select or unselect basic data listed in the difference template that
    should be part of 
  the update. Thus you can specify exactly which of 
  the differences should be in the update of the company.
- Click Save to save the changes you made to the 
  difference template.
- When you are finished with your selections, click Use 
  Diff Template 
  to return to the 
	Update Company 
	dialog box, where the difference 
  template will be defined as the new source for the update.
- Clicking Cancel  returns you to the 
	Update Company 
  dialog box without saving any un-posted changes and also resetting the state in 
  the dialog box to what it was before entering the Generate Difference Template 
    dialog box.
