View Conversion Factors Between Units

Explanation

Use this activity to view all alternative units derived from a selected base unit. This optional task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person. The conversion factor and description for each alternative unit are displayed.  

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• For predefined units, the Used in Application check box must be selected in the ISO Code Usage window. 
• For user-defined units, the unit of measure must be defined in the Units of Measure window. 
• To compare conversion factors, the alternate units must be derived from the same base unit, or one must be a base unit.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• All units derived from the base unit will be displayed.

Procedure

To perform this activity, follow these steps:

1. Open the Unit Relationships window and click the Conversion tab.
2. In the Selected Unit field, query for the base unit whose alternative units you want to view. The Alternative Unit field shows a list of all units derived from the selected base unit. The Conversion Factor field displays the factor used for converting to each of the units.
