Disconnect Project Item

Explanation

If you want to delete a project item that is used in a structure, you must first disconnect it. This is done by removing the project item from its parent in Project Item Navigator/Consist Of. If you want to delete a project item and its substructure, you should follow the steps in the Delete Project Delivery Structure Branch activity.

Prerequisites

• The project item to disconnect is used in a structure.

System Effects

• The project item is disconnected from its parent and is no longer used in a structure. The project item is listed in Project Product/Items, and the Used In Structure checkbox will not be selected.
• The project item can be deleted.

Procedure

1. Populate the window with the parent item.
2. Select the Consist Of tab. 
3. Select the project item that you want to disconnect.
4. Click Delete in the toolbar.
