Define Authorizations
 
Explanation
 
This activity to create, modify and view authorizations. Authorizations are used to identify the persons who have the rights to:
- Approve part classifications entered on the part catalog and on the supplier for purchase part. 
- Approve export license.
- Connect an export license to an order.
- Override license connection to be able to proceed with an order although a required license is not connected.
- Documentation access to be allowed to handle export-controlled documents, as identified on the 
Document Management/Document Revision/Export Control tab.

There are no specific prerequisites.
 
System Effects
 
As a result of this activity:
 
- A user is authorized to perform restricted export license work.

Procedure
 
- Open the Export Control 
Basic Data window.
- Click the Authorizations tab.
- Select New (F5).
- Enter or select a user ID.
- Optionally, enter or select an access group to which this user should belong to.
- Optionally, indicate if this user should be allowed to approve part.
- Optionally, indicate if this user should be allowed to approve license.
- Optionally, indicate if this user should be allowed to connect license to order.
- Optionally, indicate if this user should be allowed to override license connection.
- Optionally, indicate if this user should be allowed to 
access export-controlled documents.
- Enter effective from date, on which the settings become valid.
- Enter expire date, after which these settings are not valid anymore.
- Optionally, enter a note, by double-clicking the Note field which will open a text phrase editor 
that enables the user to view the entire text and, to select predefined phrases as entered in the 
Document Text Administration/Phrases tab.
- Enter a number in the List of Values order to specify the order that the record should appear in a List of Values. 
	A blank or zero indicates that this record is blocked for further use.
- Save the changes.
