Enter Routing Serial Ranges
Explanation
Use this activity to define a serial range for a part using serial
effectivity for routings. If the part is marked as using serial effectivity for routings,
you can define routing serial pointers to indicate the specific routing alternative to be
used for a given serial range.  
Prerequisites
This activity has the following prerequisites:
  - The part must be defined with the routing effectivity set
to serial.

As a result of this activity:
  - A routing serial range is defined for a part using serial effectivity for routings.

Procedure
Routings/Routing Serials: 
  - Display the part by populating or by making a selective query.
- In the table area of the Routing Serials  tab, select a
    line, then click New  to create a new serial range record.
- Enter the serial range by entering values in the  Serial Begin  and/or the
     Serial End 
    fields. If you do not enter a serial end value, the system assumes the
    greatest possible number value.
- Select the alternative in the  Alternative  column. Click List of
    Values  to select from available alternatives.
- Save the record (F12).
Routing Serial Ranges: 
  - Click New.
- Select the part for which you are defining the serial range in the  Part No
     column. Click List of Values  to select from available parts.
- Select the site in the  Site  column. Click List of Values  to select from
    available sites.
- Select the revision number in the  Revision  column. Click List of Values
     to
    select from available revisions.
- Select the routing type by using the list in the  Routing Type  column.
- Select the alternative in the  Alternative  column. Click List of Values
     to
    select from available alternatives.
- Select the serial range in the  Serial Begin  and/or the  Serial End
     columns. If you do not
    enter a serial end value, the system assumes the greatest possible number value.
- Save the record (F12).
