Define Life Limits
Explanation
This activity is used to enter life limits for Life Limited Parts (LLPs)
based on stress ratings. Life limits can be defined for all template structures that the LLP can be used in
and
for all stress ratings that are defined for each template. Life limits are
entered in operational parameter values. In addition, life limits can be entered
in calendar months from the manufactured date and as the maximum number of repairs possible.
The number of days forewarning is entered to identify
when a maintenance
task should be created before the life-limited serial drops dead.
To simplify entering this information right-click and click Get Stress
Ratings. As a result, all possible combinations of stress
ratings and operational parameters will be displayed after which you only need to enter the maximum
number of repairs and the life
limit values. If stress ratings have been defined in many levels of the template
structure(s) where the LLP can be used, only the stress ratings that are defined
on the lowest levels, closest to the LLP, are made available for life limit
definition. Example: an aircraft consist of an engine which consist of an LLP.
If stress ratings are defined on both the aircraft and engine levels, only the
stress ratings for the engine will ever be made available to the LLP.

Prerequisites
To perform this activity, the LLP must be used in a template structure, either as a
component or an alternate, where stress ratings have been defined at some
    level.
System Effects
	- As a result of this activity, when operational values are logged, the life of each serial decreases
according to the life limit defined for it.
- The due calculation for life limited parts will run automatically for
all affected serials to calculate due dates and values.
