Define Modification Type
Explanation
Use this activity to define modification types. Modification types are used
for indicating modification type when you register a modification. A modification
type is mandatory; you cannot create any
modifications if you have not created a modification type.
Examples of modification types can be Service Bulletins, Airworthiness
Directives, Service Letters etc.

Procedure
Follow the below procedure to enter information via the Modification Program Basic Data  window:
  - Open the Modification Program Basic Data window and click the 
	Modification
    Type tab.
- Create a new record or query for an existing one.
- In the  Modification  Type field, enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the
    short code that will be used in the system. Once saved, the field
    cannot be modified.
- In the  Description field, enter or edit the description for the
    modification type.
- If the modification is to be transferred to
    manufacturing, the Regulatory Required  check box is relevant.

    use this field. 
- Save the changes.

  - Open the  Repair Setup Basic Data  window and click the 
	Modification
    Type tab.
- Create a new record or query for an existing one.
- In the  Modification  Type field, enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the
    short code that will be used in the system. Once saved, the field
    cannot be modified.
- In the  Description field, enter or edit the description for the
    modification type.
- If the modification is to be transferred to
    manufacturing, the Regulatory Required  check box is relevant.

- Save the changes.
Note: If both clients are present, adding a new record in the Modification Type tab of the Modification Program Basic Data window 
will automatically update the Modification Type tab of the  Repair Setup Basic Data  window 
with the new record. In the same manner adding a new record in the Modification Type tab of the  Repair Setup Basic Data  window 
will automatically update the Modification Type tab of the Modification Program Basic Data 
window with the new record.
