Calculate Planning Data

Explanation

This activity is used to perform automatic calculation of part planning data for qualified parts in the inventory register. This process calculates safety stock, order point, and lot size for qualified parts, commodity group, and the number of periods specified. A part is qualified if at least one of its three automatic update boxes is selected in its inventory part record. The inventory part record is at Inventory Part.

Prerequisites

• Inventory records must be exist with specified Commodity Group 2.
• At least one of the three automatic update boxes must be checked in the inventory part records.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system calculates safety stock, order point, and lot size as a background process for qualified parts.

Procedure

1. Open the Calculate Planning Data dialog box.
2. Select a value for Commodity Group 2 from the List of Values and enter the required number of periods for Periods field.
3. Click OK to start calculation. Check background jobs and verify the process is complete.
