Make Control Plan Mandatory

Explanation

Use this activity to determine whether a Control Plan - Manufacturing or a Control Plan - Purchasing is required for a specific part number at all sites, for all part numbers at a specific site, or for a specific part number at a specific site. 

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• One or more sites must exist.
• One or more inventory parts must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a control plan in the Active status will be required for a specific part number at all sites, for each part at a specific site, or for a specific part number at a specific site, when releasing the shop order or  receiving the purchase order. 

When making a control plan mandatory, the following order of priority is considered irrespective of the settings on each tab.

• Mandatory by part
• Mandatory by site
• Mandatory by part per site

Procedure

1. Open the Quality Basic Data window.
2. You have the following options when you make a control plan mandatory.

• Make the control plan mandatory by part number.
• Make the control plan mandatory by site.
• Make the control plan mandatory by part number per site.

To make a control plan mandatory by part number

1. Click the Part tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a part number.
3. Select the Mandatory Shop Order Control Plan check box if a Control Plan -Manufacturing is required. 
4. Select the Mandatory Purchasing Control Plan check box if a Control Plan -Purchasing is required.
5. Save the record.

To make a control plan mandatory by site

1. Click the Site tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a site.
3. Select the Mandatory Shop Order Control Plan check box if  a Control Plan -Manufacturing is required.
4. Select the Mandatory Purchasing Control Plan check box if a Control Plan - Purchasing is required.
5. Save the record.

To make a control plan mandatory by part number per site

1. Click the Part/Site tab.
2. You have the following options when you make a control plan mandatory by part number per site.

• Make a control plan mandatory for manufactured parts.
• Make a control plan mandatory for purchased parts.

To make a control plan mandatory by part number per site for manufactured parts.

1. Click the Manufactured Part/Site tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a part number.
3. Select the Mandatory Shop Order Control Plan check box.  
4. Save the record.

To make a control plan mandatory by part number per site for purchased parts.

1. Click the Purchased Part/Site tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a part number.
3. Select the Mandatory Purchasing Control Plan check box.
4. Save the record.
