Remove/Modify/Reassign Shipment Lines
Explanation
This activity is used to change the content of the
shipment by either removing, modifying
or reassigning the
quantity of a shipment line. There are several situations where it may be necessary to remove
a shipment line or adjust the quantity of a shipment line. The person
responsible for the shipment may realize the need for removal,
modification or addition of a line at any stage in
the process, including just before loading the truck. Therefore, it is
imperative that it is possible, as long as the lines are not delivered.
If required, the quantity of an order line can be connected to several shipments
in parallel in order to handle a limited transport capacity, a backorder situation
where you want to prepare the next delivery in advance, a customer requiring a
certain delivery schedule etc.
When reassigning a shipment line quantity, this is
disconnected from current shipment and connected to a new shipment, an existing
shipment, or the customer order.
If desired you can reassign the reserved and picked quantities of the shipment
line to the destination.
Prerequisites
General:
	- The shipment must not have been delivered.
To remove shipment lines:
	- There must not be any pick list lines for the
shipment line that are not yet pick reported.
To modify the quantity of shipment lines:
	- For inventory parts, the new quantity must be equal
to or greater than the reserved quantity of the shipment line.
- The quantity can only be increased with the
remaining quantity that is still to be delivered for the customer order line i.e.
ordered quantity minus what is already delivered and what is already
	connected for delivery on shipments.
To reassign the quantity of the shipment lines:
	- When reassigning to an existing shipment, the
customer ID, delivery address, ship-via, delivery terms, and shipment type
must be the same on both shipments.
- A reserved quantity that is pick listed
but not pick reported yet cannot be reassigned. The pick list must be
	reported first.
- For package parts, it is only possible to reassign a complete package
and only as long as the package has not been delivered incompletely
	previously.
- If a picked quantity is reassigned, the original pick list ID remains
with the picking history. Please note that this may cause confusion as the
pick list can appear as though it was required for the new shipment, whereas
actually, it was required for the older shipment prior to the move.
System Effects
General:
  - If a handling unit structure has already been
automatically generated or manually created, then when
	you change, remove
	or reassign the
connected lines the handling unit structure
might need to be reviewed. Note: Transport
documents must be reprinted after the handling unit structure is altered.
- For the same reason the shipment will be turned
back from the Complete to the Preliminary state when you change, remove
or reassign the shipment line. The reason is to indicate that your handling
unit structure and documents must be reviewed before delivery.
- On the customer order line, the remaining quantity
that can be delivered via a shipment is updated accordingly.
When shipment lines are removed:
	- The reserved quantity of the shipment line will still
be reserved after the removal of the shipment line. The reservation is
transferred from the shipment line back to the customer order line.
- If shipment inventory is used and you remove a
shipment line, any picked quantities remain as picked in the shipment
	inventory. The goods are still
physically in the shipment inventory, and are therefore considered as picked
and the reservations of the picked goods are transferred from the shipment
line back to the customer order.
- If shipment inventory is not used and
you remove a shipment line, any picked quantities are returned back to the
inventory locations where they were picked and all reservations are removed.
When the quantity of shipment lines are modified:
	- If the quantity is increased and there exists a
reservation for this quantity on the customer order line, the reservation is
	transferred to the shipment line.
When the quantity of the shipment lines are reassigned:
	- When reassigning to a new shipment, a new shipment
is created and will get the following values from
current shipment: customer ID, delivery address, ship-via, delivery terms,
shipment type, planned ship date, forwarder and route.
- The shipment line quantity included in the
reassignment will be disconnected from the shipment line of current shipment.
If reassigned to another shipment the quantity is connected to the
destination shipment otherwise reassigned to the customer order line.
- The reserved and picked quantities included in the
reassignment will no longer be reserved on current shipment line.
- Depending on whether or not you select to release
the reservations, the reserved and picked quantities you include in the
reassignment will be released or reserved at the destination i.e. another
shipment or the customer order line. Parts that are picked and placed in the
shipment inventory will always be reassigned to the destination, since these
parts have to be handled in the shipment inventory.
